		<description>Jake, I totally agree, and I&#039;m not saying that we should &lt;em&gt;lose&lt;/em&gt;  the technology: I absolutely agree with you that the hype&#039;s brought a ton of &lt;em&gt;beneficial&lt;/em&gt; changes with it, and I wouldn&#039;t want to see them go away. It&#039;s the fact that plenty of designers are implementing them just because they &lt;em&gt;can&lt;/em&gt;, and not because they &lt;em&gt;need&lt;/em&gt; to. If the site has a use for the technology, by all means use it. If it&#039;s there frivolously to add to the hype, it&#039;s pointless.</description>

		<description>Heh. Nice article - but I think you&#039;re wrong about losing the technology that &#039;Web 2.0&#039; is powered by. Metadata, RSS and APIs in particular have been the most important improvements to the web since CSS. 

I&#039;m glad the whole web 2.0 hype did happen though. The few months of bullshit has left developers with a lot of tools which the mass market is ready to adopt - it&#039;s amazing what a couple of Wired and Business 2.0 articles will do :)</description>
