About Eston
Eston Bond is the 23-year-old author and developer behind Socialuxe, working as a social media-oriented technologist and entrepreneur in Silicon Valley. Bond is currently the Design Director at social classifieds startup iList, Inc.. Previously, he was a Product Designer at Facebook, working on Growth, Virality and New User Experience initiatives and has been professionally involved in software development since age sixteen. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Eston currently lives in San Francisco, California’s Financial District.

Personal Life
When not at work on a technology-related project, Eston spends his time studying economics and finance, shooting sporting clays, or evolving the design of his living space. Occasionally, you’ll catch him on XBox Live as hyaline eston playing Call of Duty 4. He is a big fan of many genres of music and sometimes makes mix CDs and mashups in Logic or Ableton Live. Eston only writes with fountain pens, enjoys drinking coffee and is a Honda Motor Co. enthusiast, owning an extensively modified Acura TSX.
Professional Life
Through college, Eston wrote for O’Reilly Media and worked as an Experience Designer for interactive agency Organic, Inc. on projects for DaimlerChrysler AG. Eston’s first forays into software development were on Palm OS and Windows CE-based devices, developing an HTML editor for handhelds and working as a handheld software developer for various military projects at a local government contractor. Socialuxe is a portmanteau of social and the noun luxe, reflecting Eston's love for social media, interaction and luxury aesthetics, the primary inspiration for much of his work. It also works well given this site's heavy weight on topics involving consumerism and the phenomenon of conspicuous consumption.

Software
Socialuxe is currently running the bleeding edge of the WordPress publishing platform, updated to the current Subversion nightly. Socialuxe uses the Fuselage WordPress framework, sIFR for typography and jQuery for Javascript effects and asynchronous processing.
Socialuxe Chocolate
The current WordPress theme is Socialuxe Chocolate, the first in the palettes of the Socialuxe theme series. This theme is currently not available for public use. Socialuxe uses House Industries’ Chalet typeface in its titles and is the primary face modified in the Socialuxe logotype. Subheadings around the site are in Hoefler+Frere-Jones’s Gotham typeface.
